Resource Information
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an English proficiency test for people who want to study or migrate to Canada or apply for Canadian citizenship. Road to IELTS helps you prepare and study for the test. This online resource offers two practice test sections. Both sections help you prepare for all four parts of the IELTS: listening, reading, writing, and speaking:
- Academic: If you wish to be an international student in Canada.
- General Training: If you want to be a temporary foreign worker or permanent resident in Canada.
Logging In
- Click the ‘Connect’ button or ‘Connect to Road to IELTS’ (link below).
- Choose the Academic or General Training link on the Road to IELTS website.
- Type in your 14-digit library card number and select 'Start.'
- Sign in/Register or Continue as a Guest.
- If you ‘Sign in/Register, you can create an account and save your progress. To register for an account with Road to IELTS, you need to have an email address and create a password.
- If you ‘Continue as a guest,’ you will not create an account or be able to save your progress.
Browsing & Reading
Once you have signed in to your account or as a guest, you can browse the four study areas, see samples of test questions, get advice and tutorials, and take practice tests. You can also download the study planner and track your progress.
